Affirmations and Inspiration

On my desk I have an inspirational perpetual flip calendar by Robert Holden called Success Now which I flip every now and then whenever I feel called for a pick me up. Affirmations for me are like a candy or a coffee as they fill me with energy to keep moving and stay motivated. I obtain affirmations and inspirations in numerous ways such as Angel Readings, meditation, podcasts, social media and so much more.

For the last few days I have been feeling very happy and focused. I recently returned from a fabulous weekend music festival called Farm to Family.  I participated at this event as a vendor offering stress and relaxation service to attendees. This was my second time vending opportunity and it brought me so much happiness. I was able to enjoy the music from my booth and feel the earth energy as we were surrounded by trees, water, and camping. Each day I focused on gratitude for my holistic abundance.

Once home I settled back into focusing on my business and my responsibilities. Feeling a need for inspirational focus I turned to the calendar by Robert Holden called Success Now   and landed on a quote that really hit home for me. It said “Reflect on how you can make today more beautiful, more meaningful, and more enjoyable for yourself and others.” It brought back memories of the festival and how blessed I was for the numerous types of abundance. All that I had manifested came true.

Also when I see that quote I wonder what can I do to make this day more beautiful and take action on ideas that come forth. How can I continue to inspire myself and others?

In a world in which we are constantly bombarded with negativity on social media, television, radios, and surrounded by grouchy and negative people, I believe it’s important to find inspiration each day and embrace it with happiness. Life can be very challenging at times yet it can also be happy and peaceful if you find inspiration throughout your day.

Inspiration also comes from the work I do with my clients. Today was an example as I received a text from one of my counseling clients who’s been really sad lately, stating he felt more optimist and energized since he’s been finding his joy again. I was so appreciative that he shared that with me. I reflected how my work with this client made today and other days “more beautiful, more meaningful, and more enjoyable.”

Being happy for me is the greatest feeling in the world and for me happiness comes from the simple things in life. From dancing to live music in the sand barefoot, reading a good book in a comfortable spot undisturbed, and spending time with my niece and nephew amongst many many more

Reflect today on what you can do to make it more beautiful, more meaningful, and more enjoyable for yourself and others.

I would love to hear what inspires you. What are some of your favorite affirmations? Please share at @patymariposas on Instagram.

Spring Cleaning for the Mind and Body

Cleanse your mind and body with daily practice

As we continue to flow through spring and the transformation that continues to take place as the world reawakens from its winter sleep, the time is now to clean out what no longer serves us, which could be over accumulation of stuff, toxins in our bodies or our negative thoughts.

Each of us has our own process of cleansing. When we clear out our homes it can be done through yard sales and donations. Our “junk” can be someone else’s treasure and we receive compensation in some form plus a cleaner home and happier state of mind. Hopefully, though the idea is that we release what we no longer need or want so that we may simplify our lives and clear out the clutter. Others clear out negative thoughts or emotions that are blocking us from moving forward in life by seeking help through a coach, counselor, workshop, class, book, etc. Some also do short-term detoxes to clear our bodies from toxins. Whatever process we choose, our intuition guides us and the opportunities or support appear to help us.

You may recall the saying, “out with the old, in with the new” which could apply to all ways of cleansing.  Transformation begins, when we take responsibility for our lives by recognizing we are not feeling fulfilled or happy in this present moment, we then take action. Recently my process of cleansing has been through various ways, from clearing out physical items from my living space and computer, meditating, and also recognizing my challenges. Two of my ongoing challenges as a creative person with numerous ideas and goals are staying focused and completing projects.

Each year (and week to be honest) I state I’m going to be more focused and just like many I set intentions and goals about how I will do that. Yet, four months into the year I do not see that I have progressed well in that area. Although I have purchased and watched numerous programs which advertised I would be more focused I have not taken the necessary action by focusing on one or two projects.  Granted I have been accomplishing many tasks as my business continues to grow yet I have also been procrastinating with many other tasks and activities. I feel sometimes like I have 8 arms and all are busy doing something different.

Have you felt this way too?

As a health coach and counselor, I work with people who are struggling with the same issues of too many ideas and little focus. Last year I took action by investing in a business coach to assist me in building my business and understanding what it takes to be successful. While she helped me in some areas to become more clear, being focused was not one of them, which I take full responsibility. I have tried various ways to be more organized but in all honestly have not been 100% committed.

Lately I have been listening more to what I say to others and have recognized that I am constantly complaining to people, “I’m not focused” I’m such a procrastinator, I’m so frustrated and annoyed with myself.”

Does this sound like you?

Obviously criticizing and complaining are not the solution and are really bringing my energy down. I asked my spiritual self for help and recalled what has helped me in the past was having a planner to write in and not just relying on my online calendar. I turned to Amazon Prime, my favorite shopping place, to search for a planner that could help me become more focused and I came upon one that really met my needs. It’s called The Life Coach* in a Book for 90 days and it addresses achieving balance in life by addressing goals, visions, and chunking it down by month, week, and day. I have committed to writing in it each morning and night. This commitment of taking action is about taking responsibility for my challenges and transforming them into strengths. I am enjoying this guide so much I am now using it in my Ultimate Stress Release Program and provide it as a gift to my clients which we use during our program.

Check out this planner* and see if it will help you in clearing out your limiting beliefs and filling them with limitless ones.

Girl’s Weekend in North Carolina

I began April 2016 with two girl friends, Paula and Kaylynn completely relaxed and happy. We spent a couple of nights in Old Fort, North Carolina at Bob’s Big Apartment a renovated old building which was at one time a bank. The town was formed in the late 1700s and is built around the train tracks which passes through Main Street. A few stores and food places dot the landscape with houses scattered around of various types of upkeep and styles.

We have been planning this trip since last year. Honestly, all we had planned were the dates and wanting to see the Brown Mountain Lights. Our planning truly began the day before we were to head out as the 3 of us were finally together. From Paula’s couch we gathered around my computer and found a place in Air BnB, which neither of us had ever used. We found Bob’s Big Apartment and unanimosuly agreed to stay there due to  different components of the apartment. I for the jacuzzi, Paula because of the distance between Asheville, Old Fort, and the Brown Lights and she was familiar with Old Fort, and Kaylynn because it appeared comfortable.

Our adventure began Wednesday night when we stayed at a friend’s of Paula’s. For the 3 women it truly was an adventure and relaxing time because they were free of husbands, children, and making decisions for awhile. As the only single and child-free person, there were numerous times I remained quiet as conversations turned to their kids. I smiled most of the time because I understand their children and husbands are their lives and so they take up most of their conversations. I though often daydreamed of my next adventure as they talked about their children’s’ accomplishments and frustrations. That night we soaked our feet in hot water and epsom salt while trying to find a funny movie to watch. We ended the night playing Crimes

The point of this weekend was simply to be present and enjoy each other’s company. We were delighted to just be the girls and take care of one another. We took turns cooking and cleaning at Bob’s apartment. Paula gave massages and I offered energy healing with Reiki and color therapy. We truly enjoyed each other’s gifts. Paula and Kaylynn spent most of the weekend curled up in chairs reading books for pleasure. They were truly happy. I on the other hand spent time in the hot tub which was in the living room, working on my computer, and walking around town.

We spent an afternoon in Asheville with the main purpose of visiting the Salt Cave in downtown. Overall, the weekend we received what we needed without focusing on planning how that needed to happen. I’m so thankful to have shared this amazing experience with two amazing and beautiful women an opportunity I have not been able to enjoy recently as I haven’t been spending time with friends in Miami. I return to Miami on Tuesday and refocus my attention on my business and the wonderful clients I am honored to work with. My March has been filled with opportunities to travel, relax, and practice the work I love while being surrounded by genuine friends who support and honor me as I am, La Mariposa.

Now I want to hear from you, please share if you have had the opportunity to enjoy a weekend getaway with friends.
