I’ve always been a very creative person which is a blessing and also a challenge, which as a business owner this can be awesome or detrimental.
Finding a balance involves taking small steps towards any direction and pushing through fear that comes sneaking up. This also entails asking others for help and to be held accountable so I don’t b.s. my way out of it.
Can you relate to this?
The fear I face numerous times about moving forward such as following up with potential clients or networking is because I fear rejection. I know it stems from childhood when I would be rejected for asking my wants in various ways.
This is a constant battle and one I face on a daily basis. I often give myself pep talks in order to move through the fear and once I do I am gifted with a new client or confirmation that I did the right thing.
My intention when I began Mariposas Holistic Healing in 2013 was to create a healing center where people can come and receive a variety of wellness services. I’ve had the fortunate opportunity of working in 3 different wellness center, 1 in New Mexico and 2 in Miami, one of which I’m still a practitioner in. I still have my vision of establishing my own center yet for now I’m content renting space others have. I’m thankful for each center as they have shown me different ways of working with other practitioners and within the center itself.
I primarily sought the centers so I can have a room to work out of. As I began to teach Reiki I knew that the center I would work in had to have a teaching space, which is what brought me to Gables Optimal Health Wellness Center where I now work and teach out of. Last year I was inspired by Sheri Kaplan, founder of the Holistic Fair and Wellness Clinic in Hollywood and finally had the opportunity to participate. This year I spent about 2 months traveling up to Hollywood and offered my chakra balancing services in the clinic. It was a wonderful experience yet honestly I stopped attending because I was tired of the commute.
So, I thought about how I can manifest it in Miami. This idea has been brewing for many months until finally I took action and began to co-create it with my colleague and fellow practitioner Lina Collazos.
I’m so excited to announce that on September 7 we are having our grand opening of our Natural Wellness Clinic which will be offered 2x a month in Coral Gables.
I share this with you, especially those out of Miami, because I encourage you to take imperfect action towards an idea that you’ve been thinking about in your mind for a long time. I believe in your ability so much that I’m offering the first 10 people who respond to this email or book online a complimentary Manifestation Coaching Call, regardless of your location. You’ll end the call with at least one action step you can confidently take immediately.
All you have to do is click here for my booking calendar and choose the Manifestation Strategy Session.
With the right support you too can turn that idea into an action that transforms your vision into reality. You’ll release the need to be perfect and appreciate the steps you take.
Imagine talking with someone who will totally listen to you blurt about your idea and then empower you to create an objective that will make it real.
For those of you in Miami, please join me this Thursday, September 7 or Sunday, September 17 at the Natural Wellness Clinic. During the day you can come browse at no cost unless you choose a service from one of our gifted practitioners or products from our vendors. Then stay Thursday night as I lead a chakra balancing group Reiki meditation. Sunday afternoon we will have special guest Marley, of Meditation with Marley.
- The first 10 people who sign up will also receive a remote energy session to clear any blocks that have come up during our conversation.

Have you been feeling physical or emotional pain that is similar to others who are close to you or that you’re working with?
Are you a heart centered individual who gives more than receives?
As energy beings we are constantly absorbing and releasing energy around us. Our field filters in what’s helpful and not, yet with so much stimulation occurring within and around us, sometimes we lose our balance. Losing our balance can occur on various levels in our lives yet show up through physical or emotional pain as that is how our body communicates with us. Also, the universe throws mirrors in our lives as we are confronted with situations, experiences or people that mirror our challenges or issues we need to improve so we can continue on our path towards self-actualization or connecting to spirit.
Recently a Reiki student told me how she was struggling with low back pain which has been affecting her daily life. We discussed how the pain was related to the sacral chakra, relationships, flow, sexual energy. She then mentioned doing energy work with the client, not Reiki, which dealt with releasing energetic attachments from a traumatic loss. She added that her client had been struggling with low back pain and her own pain started after the energetic session.
Have you been protecting yourself with Reiki?, I asked her.
No, she replied, how do I do that?
As she discussed when the pain arose, work with her client, and other issues coming up in her life, she began to connect the dots.
So, now that the awareness is there, next step is the protection and taking care of self.
As a Reiki practitioner or energy healer, it’s important to protect yourself before and after sessions. Also, taking care of yourself is important. As heart centered individuals taking care of yourself with even 5 minutes of time for you allows you to balance yourself again.
Below I have identified 5 ways you can energetically protect and take care of yourself, regardless if you’re an energy practitioner or not.
5 steps to protect yourself energetically
- Intention: Before a troubling situation or working with clients/customers, set an intention that you will be protected and ask for support from God/spirit/angels. I usually imagine myself surrounded by white light, like a bubble. Reiki 2 and up practitioners, use the power and distant symbol before each session.
- Dust the energy off: Imagine the energy you have absorbed after a session or challenging situation as dust. Using intention and action, state that you will release the energy while also brushing the energy off with your hands. Begin with left hand over right arm and switch, same with left hand over right leg and switch, then both hands dusting off front and back. Clap your hands to end it.
- Cutting ties: Similar to dusting the energy, this concept is more about cutting ties. After working with traumatic situations with clients, state your intention (out loud or in your head) to cut energetic ties and release any attachments. With your hands acting like a knife, imagine slicing down your front and back stating the intention.
- 5 minute self-care: We’re all busy rushing from one place to another, yet giving yourself 5 minutes will help your energy remain balanced throughout the day. After each session or client leaves (if able), set an alarm for 5 minutes and sit quietly without interruptions. Focus on your breath, breathing in and out of your mouth. Allow the thoughts to float away without focusing on them.
- Gratitude: Always take a few moments after each session to identify 3 ways you are grateful (action you did, thanking God/spirit/angels for assistance, being present, etc).
Implementing one or all of these tips into your daily self-care practice will liberate you from energetic attachments which has been brought on by stressful situations or people you are working with. By engaging in these practices you will remain balanced and protected from absorbing issues other people are struggling with.
Please share with me your experience with energetic attachments and if any of these tips were helpful to you. Connect with me via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or visit my website, http://www.mariposasholistic.com to learn more about me and my work.

This weekend I attended my first holistic expo in West Palm Beach through HolisticGlobe and offered energy healing sessions along with angel readings. I offered 6 sessions with glowing responses from the receivers and 2 angel readings. I also collected more than 20 emails from people interested in learning more. I was honored to open the expo with a chakra guided meditation accompanied by another presenter who used singing bowls.
Overall, I felt the experience offered me an opportunity to talk with others about my work and meet other practitioners. It was incredible to be amongst so many healers sharing their gifts to people open to learning about healing themselves through various modalities.
For the past 30 years, natural healing techniques have been pushing forward as another resource for people to take back their health and learn more about why they became ill in the first place and what they could do differently. Every day we are seeing more holistic centers operating with different practitioners offering massage, Reiki, herbal medicine, and nutritional support.
These techniques are not meant to eradicate western medicine, for they are being offered as a way to complement it and offer patients the power to take control of their health. Expos such as the one I attended offer various modalities to treat health issues and provide more options. It was an honor to attend this expo and I look forward to attending many more in the future.
Have you recently learned about a new healing modality or received a treatment? Please share your experiences in the comments below. Thank you!
Finding one’s passion and joy in life is a continuous journey that presents itself all at once or a little bit at a time. I know I have found my life’s passion which is to share information, love, and support with others who are drawn to me. As I give of myself I am also open to receiving the same from others. It is beautiful and freeing as I release attachments.
Currently I am working on my feelings of rejection, something I have felt throughout my life and has kept me from pushing past the fear of hearing no. I am seeking the source and then healing it with Reiki, love, and gratitude. What I have learned on my journey I hope to share it with you my reader and hopefully one day client.
As I release rejection I then embrace trust as it balances it out. I am reaching out and asking for help from numerous people as I build my business, manage a home and living with my father, and take care of myself. I am thankful that most people I have asked for help or support have agreed and I am now forming an amazing team for my business and personal life.
I am blessed as I have found my passion and will help others find theirs so we can be in love with the world and ourselves.
Whether you have your life’s passion or not, please share and let’s support each other.
Blessings and health!
