From vision to reality!

I’ve always been a very creative person which is a blessing and also a challenge, which as a business owner this can be awesome or detrimental.

Finding a balance involves taking small steps towards any direction and pushing through fear that comes sneaking up. This also entails asking others for help and to be held accountable so I don’t b.s. my way out of it.
Can you relate to this?

The fear I face numerous times about moving forward such as following up with potential clients or networking is because I fear rejection. I know it stems from childhood when I would be rejected for asking my wants in various ways.

This is a constant battle and one I face on a daily basis. I often give myself pep talks in order to move through the fear and once I do I am gifted with a new client or confirmation that I did the right thing.

My intention when I began Mariposas Holistic Healing in 2013 was to create a healing center where people can come and receive a variety of wellness services. I’ve had the fortunate opportunity of working in 3 different wellness center, 1 in New Mexico and 2 in Miami, one of which I’m still a practitioner in. I still have my vision of establishing my own center yet for now I’m content renting space others have. I’m thankful for each center as they have shown me different ways of working with other practitioners and within the center itself.

I primarily sought the centers so I can have a room to work out of. As I began to teach Reiki I knew that the center I would work in had to have a teaching space, which is what brought me to Gables Optimal Health Wellness Center where I now work and teach out of. Last year  I was inspired by Sheri Kaplan, founder of the Holistic Fair and Wellness Clinic in Hollywood and finally had the opportunity to participate. This year I spent about 2 months traveling up to Hollywood and offered my chakra balancing services in the clinic. It was a wonderful experience yet honestly I stopped attending because I was tired of the commute.

So, I thought about how I can manifest it in Miami. This idea has been brewing for many months until finally I took action and began to co-create it with my colleague and fellow practitioner Lina Collazos.

I’m so excited to announce that on September 7 we are having our grand opening of our Natural Wellness Clinic which will be offered 2x a month in Coral Gables.
I share this with you, especially those out of Miami, because I encourage you to take imperfect action towards an idea that you’ve been thinking about in your mind for a long time. I believe in your ability so much that I’m offering the first 10 people who respond to this email or book online a complimentary Manifestation Coaching Call, regardless of your location. You’ll end the call with at least one action step you can confidently take immediately.

All you have to do is click here for my booking calendar and choose the Manifestation Strategy Session.

With the right support you too can turn that idea into an action that transforms your vision into reality. You’ll release the need to be perfect and appreciate the steps you take.

Imagine talking with someone who will totally listen to you blurt about your idea and then empower you to create an objective that will make it real.

For those of you in Miami, please join me this Thursday, September 7 or Sunday, September 17 at the Natural Wellness Clinic. During the day you can come browse at no cost unless you choose a service from one of our gifted practitioners or products from our vendors. Then stay Thursday night as I lead a chakra balancing group Reiki meditation. Sunday afternoon we will have special guest Marley, of Meditation with Marley.

  • The first 10 people who sign up will also receive a remote energy session to clear any blocks that have come up during our conversation.

Grateful for Mom every day

It wasn’t too long ago that around this time I would be searching online for flowers to send to my mother for mother’s day and a heartfelt card, regardless if I was home or traveling. Now, I stand on the beach where she used to walk and imagine her next to me. My mother passed away in 2014, 3 years after her body battled cancer and chemotherapy. Every day I give thanks that I was by her side when she took her last breath. Every day that she was in the hospital I would give her Reiki to help her body relax.
Reiki, Japanese energy healing technique, has empowered me to be more in tuned with my body and become more sensitive to energy. Usually I feel my mom (and other loved ones who’ve passed) when I sit outside on the beach (or nature). I close my eyes and just breathe. Sometimes I cry and sometimes I smile. Whatever I feel I just allow it to be without judgement as I know it’s my body releasing pent up stress, otherwise known as energy.
Recently, I began to work with a new client who lost an adult child a few years ago and is really struggling. The pain has been intense yet this client is finding hope in various ways, which I support. One of the techniques I will be teaching this person is Reiki as it allows the body to heal naturally by removing blocked energy. I will be teaching my client Reiki remotely, a new opportunity that the universe recently placed in my lap.
In 2013 I became a Reiki teacher as I was on a mission to share this amazing healing technique with whoever wanted to learn. I was inspired by Reiki to help with stress and grief after learning the first level in 2009. Honestly the reason I learned was to help Yoli while she was finding the best way, her choice were natural techniques, to defeat the cancer that was consuming her body. Since then,I have been incorporating it into my life and my profession with a long break after Yoli passed. Yet once I began to understand Reiki the more I embraced being a teacher.
My first Reiki workshop was alongside my friend and yoga instructor, Libby in Costa Rica. It was a successful weekend workshop on a quiet beach on the Costa Rican coast. My parents came as my mother was taking the class and to support me on this endeavor. I had the honor of teaching her Reiki and Libby taught her yoga. It was amazing on so many levels.

That’s my mom to my right.

My mom back right. She gave it all. 🙂

To me, Reiki is a spiritual love connection. It doesn’t always offer a direct explanation yet it helps the body to chill so it can heal however that needs to be. It helped me move through my grief whenever I lost a loved one or was struggling through emotional stressors. Now, I’ve created my own reality with a successful healing business so I can continue to serve people in a way that’s unique and beneficial too so many people. I know my mom would be so proud of me. Shoot, I’m super proud of myself. 😉

So this Mother’s Day we (brother, his family, and my dad) will raise a glass of wine in my mother’s honor and celebrate her life. I’ll send her a blessing into the heavens along with a kiss.
This mother’s day give a mother (your mother or any mother you love) a big hug and say thank you for her dedication to ensuring you are fed, taken care of, and loved.
How will you celebrate Mother’s Day this year?

Let’s discuss any blocks you may have in your life or struggles which is limiting your light from shining through.
I’m here to support you with a step-by-step plan to balance your life, embrace your power, and focus on holistic health.

Bust Self-Sabotage

We are 2 weeks into 2017 and the biggest positive change for me has been my motivation. I have set goals with various time limits I am committed to. My motivation stems from focusing on my purpose to enhance my community, confidence, and commitment to my life and business. To me these goals are different from new year resolutions because my focus is not on changing for 2017 but doing it for life.

If you have worked with me in my coaching program then you know I like to set 1, 3, and 6 month goals for those are more realistic and practical. Regardless if you’re into setting resolutions or goals, one of the biggest issues you may face in following through is yourself. How often have you talked yourself out of going out for that walk or eating a salad or going to sleep before 1:00 am? I’m sure you have made an excellent case for skipping out doing what you know is good for you.

Another way self-sabotage is common is when you feel that everything’s going just right then a negative thought comes in and your mood deflates.

For example, Monday I was rejoicing because I had just secured a weekly guided meditation opportunity I will be facilitating at House of Movement, a holistic gym in Brickell. As I was screaming excitedly in my car (yes windows were up) I then thought of someone I hadn’t spoken to in a bit and began to feel sadness especially as images scurried through my mind.

Fortunately, I caught myself as I realized I was hitting my limit of gratitude when life is treating me well and staying within that zone.

Sound familiar?

I want to reassure you that it’s not life that is dealing you a bad hand, but unfortunately it’s your thoughts that are keeping you down. As a counselor I knew about this and share it with my clients yet when it comes to my personal life that concept just flew out the window. In order to ensure I am aware of my limiting beliefs I picked from my bookshelf The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks*. I had read it before but felt called to read it again. This book was the first to be called into duty for following through on my goal to read 1 book a month or at least from start to finish, whichever comes first.

Last year I hit my limiting belief of not feeling worthy numerous times which caused me low motivation in moving forward with my business and becoming financially independent. Fortunately the universe knows of my gifts and pushed me through some of my hurdles, yet I can admit they were hard to crawl over at times. My clients mirrored this in me as they would mention how frustrating it is when they feel life is going well and then something (or some thought) comes into play which causes them to backtrack or so they thought.

So that’s why I believe Gay Hendricks* book called out to me so I can remember to move past my limiting beliefs, my self-doubts. One of the a-ha moments for me in the book, is our addiction to pain which causes us to poke our happy bubbles whenever they start to rise. This is related to a hidden fear that you may have or a limiting belief that you’re not worthy, you don’t deserve happiness or you’re not enough.

Today and everyday I challenge you to recognize when negative thoughts come into your mind, especially after a happy event, and shake them off. You can do this by dancing, walking into another room, putting on a happy song, playing with pets, etc. Point is do something physical rather than staying with your thoughts. I promise you will feel so much better.

Peace and love,

Paty, La Mariposa

Are you worthy? Of course you are!!

Doubts of feeling worthy comes from fear which may have begun during childhood experiences. Fear is a word we all dread yet is a necessary part of our primal blueprint. It alerts us to danger which then activates our flight or fight response so we can act as we protect ourselves. However, fear can also be a deterrent as we begin to face new opportunities in life and push ourselves to be better.

Psychologically speaking, fear can cause us to hold back from achieving our dreams and being creative as doubts consume our thoughts. On a daily basis we may identify with more negative thoughts, such as “I am unworthy, I am not enough, I don’t have what it takes, I am not unique.” These are very strong statements and said often enough it will appear as though it’s true.

For the past 3 years I have felt fear and feelings of unworthiness stronger than before as I set on my path as an entrepreneur. Family wise, support is limited because they doubt I can be successful without a steady paycheck. However, I’m building a community of entrepreneurs, especially with women, who are showing me otherwise.

Yet, fear continues to rear its ugly head and I procrastinate or stall or not accomplish what I say I will do which eats me up inside. Fortunately, I have asked my guardians/angels for support and they have willingly sent me people, books, resources, etc to assist me in challenging fear. I have now learned to embrace fear and identify when it’s present so I can decide to move forward.

Since then, I have taken a more proactive approach in my business as I step into the light. I am dedicated to writing you newsletters that are teachable moments, show my vulnerability and truth, while sharing tips and resources that have helped me along the way.

I recently recorded this video for myself and you as a reminder that We are Worthy and We are Enough. In this world of chaos and anger, we must be the light and peace we want to see more of in this world. Therefore, by stating“I am worthy and I am Enough” we can show up with confidence, peace, and being present.

Join me today in repeating these mantras on a daily basis. “I am Worthy and I am Enough.”

My purpose is to empower you on your healing journey and my mission is to offer you health-related insights, practical tips, inspiration and stories that will support you in living balanced towards a happy and healthy life as you embrace your joy and purpose.
